Alex Varanese, creative illustrator and big fan of red (more than you and me ), designed this illustration. I love it. An ultra abstracted interpretation of freeway travel, with each piece contrasting grime-laden paved surfaces with intangible shapes and colors.

Design Something Cool Every Day 2009

Creative Director Brock Davis decided to Design / Make Something Cool Every Day 2009.
He was quite successful in his self project. One piece of creative work made every day for 365 consecutive days (January 1st – December 31st).
I love all of these a lot but sharing only my most favorite 22 days, to see more please hit the link at the end of this post.

Brock Davis is an artist and musician who works on primarily self-initiated projects in a variety of mediums.He currently serves as creative director at Carmichael Lynch where his work has won such accolades as the prestigious Cannes Lion award for creative excellence. Not limiting himself to advertising, Brock’s talents span music, drawing, graphic design, writing, works of art both serious and absurd, and a killer instinct for video games. I really impressed by the work of Designer Mikey Burton.

He is creative person from the Midwest with a passion for design. He graduated from Kent State University with a BS/MA in Visual Communication Design (graphic design).

While at grad school, He started a company with two friends. Over the past four years, his company Little Jacket has worked for such clients as The Sundance Channel, Wilco, Spoon (the band), MTV2, and the Cleveland RTA.

In that short time, they have received much recognition; He personally has received awards from Communication Arts, Print, HOW, CMYK, and Logo Lounge.

Vintage Ad Browser was created in 2009, released in 2010, by Philipp Lenssen from Germany, currently living in China.

This site aims to collect vintage ads from a variety of sources, including comic books, CD-Roms, websites, APIs, your submissions, book, magazine & comic book scans, and more.

At the moment, this site contains 123,286 ads. Vintage Ad Browser has a sister site called Cover Browser, created in 2006 – please have a look.

You can search ads in it by year, by color and by keywords. Two thumbs up for Philipp Lenssen.
